NJ NAHN Nursing Scholarships Are Now Open!
Supporting the next generation of Hispanic nurses through academic and professional advancement.

Scholarship awards are presented to NJ NAHN members enrolled in accredited LVN/LPN, associate, diploma, baccalaureate, and graduate nursing programs. Selection of recipients is based on financial need, current academic standing, and additional criteria as outlined in the application.
Scholarship recipients represent a distinguished group of nursing students who demonstrate strong potential for professional contributions to the nursing profession and the ability to serve as role models for future nurses. The number of scholarships awarded annually is contingent upon the availability of funds within the scholarship program.
Applicants are solely responsible for ensuring that all required application materials are submitted. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Application Criteria
Applicants must submit a completed NJ NAHN scholarship application by the stated deadline. The application packet must include:
- Two (2) letters of recommendation from faculty addressing academic/clinical excellence and professional potential
- A 500-word essay reflecting the prompt within the application
- A current resume (education, employment, honors, certifications, and community service)
- An estimate of educational expenses and financial aid
- A current unofficial academic transcript
Applicants must be active NJ NAHN members at the time of application. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred but not required.
Scholarship recipients are expected to maintain NJ NAHN membership for one (1) year after receiving the award and attend at least one NJ NAHN event.
Members may reapply when pursuing a higher degree (maximum of two consecutive years). National Board Members and Committee members are not eligible.

| Maria Perez-Esteves Hispanic Nursing Student Scholarship – Criteria: One undergraduate member of NJ NAHN with financial need who attends either the NAHN Annual Conference or the Hispanic Health Policy Summit. – Requirement: Submit an essay explaining your motivation for becoming a nurse and how NJ NAHN membership supports your success. | $1,000- 1 Awardee |
